Tele-Therapy
The recent COVID-19 pandemic significantly shifted the way health care professionals can provide services. No longer is it always necessary to drive to your therapist’s office to engage in a clinical session. Think of the time, money and effort you can be saving with a tele-therapy session conducted through a secure platform. Although tele-therapy may not be the best fit for everyone, it is often the preferred approach. And, the results can be just as effective as in-person sessions.
Is tele-therapy right for you?
If you answer “yes” to these questions, you might find this approach to meet your needs.
- You have a newer model reliable smartphone, desktop or laptop computer, or a tablet
- You are a resident of New Jersey or Nevada and will be physically located in either state for your therapy sessions
- You have a fixed location where you can have confidential sessions without interruption from others. Sessions cannot be conducted if you are in a public location or a moving vehicle
- You have high-speed internet service
- You are able to be “on camera” throughout the entire session
- You have someone to care for any children or others that require supervision while you are in session.
When is tele-therapy NOT the best approach?
If you are in crisis, having active suicidal thoughts, or not yet stable in recovery for substance misuse, in-person sessions and a higher level of care are indicated. During our consultation, we will discuss your specific needs and circumstances to ensure that tele-therapy is appropriate.
Please note: If you are seeking services for domestic violence, there may be additional safety measures that need to be taken.
